Where does all
the time go, if anyone knows please let us know.
June we will have another sawdust session, segmented turning, hollow forms, and
tool sharpening.
Some of the members may want to participate in our
mentoring program. We have several turners that have volunteered to help you
with your problems, all you have to do is contact them and set up a time and
place.
The mentors are Fred Bond, 484-3069, Bill Bryan
476-5220, Jack Diamond 476-3314, Al McCoy 434-1687, and George McClure 937-0868.
If you would like to be a mentor please let us know.

Look at all the smiley faces early Saturday morning, they come
from miles around to see what we have in store for them. You better make it good
Darnell so they will return again.

It sure is nice to have a place to go to learn to turn.

Do I hear a bid for this chunk. Thanks to all who bring the
wood, just remember to bring good sound stock, no termites and rot, if that's
all you got, can it. Don't burn our members with your rot.

Nice pieces of Cedar.

Off set turning, a candle holder. Thank you Michael you made
our club a little richer from All your turnings.

The challenge was to make an egg. Here is Durk's entry nesting
eggs, good show.

Jack made six eggs. He and Durk tied for the prize great job
to both of you.

Runner up, I believe this was Mike Demaline. Nice Sorry I
missed some of the entries, I got side tracked.

Bo's Show and tell. He got a very good finish on this bowl.

Bill Donahue shows off his inlayed bowl worth of being in a
gallery. Bill said this was a tree that survived Katrina next to his home
that got damaged by the storm.

Bill shows another of his turnings a delicate lidded box, says the wood came out
of Al's wood pile.
You will have ask Bill about the wooden finial. I for one am glad that he decided
to keep turning, a great asset to our club.

Durk shows his entry for the Challenge. He said it evolved
from one egg then Tarla encouraged him so much that he had to make a nest for
the eggs. Sorry Tarla his eyes and mouth are shut, he must have an affinity to
having his picture taken.
