Newsletter January

Here is a letter from Alan Lacer with his schedule for the two days of demonstrations.

Hello Mike:

Sorry for not answering sooner.  Two days after I got your email I had to leave quickly on a family emergency and subsequent death--I am just now back home.

I will be alone, no problems with animals.   Arriving evening of 18th, leaving Sunday after the demo.

Topics:   Skew  (about 1/2 day), lidded boxes and making hook tools  (about 1/2 day),  if you want:   fundamentals of sharpening 7 different tools, bowl turning fundamentals and a look at several reverse chucking methods.    overview of finishing for woodturners.

Depending on what you think the group would like, will let you know on supplies.

Best,

Alan
The cost of the Demo will be $25 for one day and $35 for both days, this price is for paid up members only.

The demo is on January 19th and 20th starting 9am both days.

Let the party begin. These Guys look like they are ready for what may be coming.

Getting acquainted with the better half of the group. Notice the plants on the table, they were Donated by Barbara Thomas for door prizes. Thank you Barb and Ralph.

Anxiously waiting for the drawings for the door prizes. There were the plants from Barb, gifts from Blackwater Tools, hats, center finders, hose clamps, etc., Ralph donated a couple of turnings, a box of wood was donated by Leland, Mike Smidt donated the clock blanks Mike was the owner of the saw mill that was out back at the meeting. I hope I didn't miss anyone.
