As the wood turns, so does the world, hang on tight.

 

The clubs Christmas party is all set, so bring you and your spouse to our first annual Christmas party. The food has been ordered from Beulah Land BBQ and James says, "We are in for a treat". Members are encouraged to bring a covered dish or potato chips, bread or buns, salad, and paper products, cups, plates, napkins and your family.  The regular time 9 AM till over. We will have a short business meeting, show and tell and an auction. Bring some for the auction related for woodturning.

 

We will be playing a Christmas game called Dirty Santa. Bring a wrapped gift preferable woodturning related one gift per family. The rules will be discussed prior to the game. We will set up both lathes for top making. Bring some top blanks if you would like to participate. Jack and Bill will be bringing some of their blanks if you forget.

 

The Presidents Challenge is a Christmas ornament.

 

Trent Bosch will be doing a demonstration on Tuesday evening January the 18th from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM the cost per member is $20. Tell your friends and be sure you place this date on your calendar. We will be inviting other clubs to participate in this event.

 

The committee is working on getting Donald Derry a professional Woodturner for the month of April on our regular meeting day. Donald will be staying with club members so there are no hotel expenses. If you are interested in having a hands on session with him let James McClure know. The expenses will be shared with the other participating clubs.

 

Our club has been invited to participate in an estate auction. We will be the only ones participating in the auction, but will ask the wood carvers to participate with us. The sale is on the 18th of December after our meeting. The agent is keeping the location secret till the 18th then members will notified. The time for the auction is around 2:45. Items for auction a Craftsman 100 10" table saw, Craftsman floor model 17" drill press, Craftsman Lathe 10 or 12 ", Craftsman 10" Radial Arm Saw, Craftsman scroll saw, Scotties 10" band saw, and hand tools priced to sell. Only Cash or Checks will be accepted.
