The club will meet at the VFW in Milton Florida at 0900 on Saturday the 19 of July. The address is 5918 Carrol Road

Directions are as follows if you are coming from Pensacola get off I-10 at the Avalon Blvd. Exit and go north till you come to the stop light at the Penny Pantry Gas station, this is Carrol Rd turn right and go about 100 yards and the VFW is on the Left can’t miss it. Anyone coming from Milton turn south on Avalon till you come to the Penny Pantry See you there.

 

The presidents Challenge will be any shape turned and painted or dyed black. The President says the thrust of this challenge is to show the curves and finish of a turning rather than the wood grain, texture or coloring. He encourages all members to participate in each one of the challenges. Reason you will learn something about yourself and most of all turning wood.

 

Bring your items for Show and Tell. This is another way to learn something about turning.

 

OB is stepping down as the president, but will be the person in charge of getting turners from around the country to do demos for our club. He will be the Special Events Chairman. If you would like to be the President, or know someone who would make a good President let the club know. Be thinking about this item and in August we will have the election.

 

If you have any suggestions pro or con please let one of the following people know what you want out of the club, Bill Bryan, Jack Diamond, Mike Demaline, Randy Paulk Al McCoy, Ray Welch, James McClure and Jeff Olive. This is your club lets support it and make it the club that cares.

 

Some of the members will be in Hattiesburg Mississippi for the Lyle Jamieson demo on the 19th and 20th of July. If any members want to go to the demo it isn’t to late you can pay at the door.

 

The demos for this meeting will be Robert McBroom will be showing the members how he uses his special tools and how to make them. We have rescheduled Jeff Olive for a sharpening demonstration; He had to work last meeting and wants to try again.
