Many commercial finishes can be made cheaply this just a few common ingredients.
Below are a few recipes, if you have any more please let us know.

Water Lox

1pt - Poly
3pt -Mineral Spirits
 

Wiping Varnish

15% Sanding Sealer
35% Gloss Lacquer
50% Lacquer Thinner

Sam Maloof

1pt Poly
1pt Boiled Linseed Oil
1pt Tung Oil

Danish Oil

1pt Varnish
2pt Boiled Linseed Oil
3pt Mineral Sprits

Oil Varnish

1pt Varnish
1pt Oil (any kind)
1pt Mineral Sprits

Friction Polish

1pt Denatured Alcohol
1pt Shellac
1pt Boiled Linseed Oil
