The John Jordan demo was a great success!!! John took us through two days of instruction and demonstration of a wide variety of turning techniques. Day one consisted of John making a couple of bowls, both side grain and end grain, sharpening, wood selection, face plate mounting and a fiery sermon against the evil sins of wood boiling.

John also brought several examples of his wood turning. |
A lunch of BB&Q and all the fixings was made available my

Sunday's class had almost as many members with a few out of town visitors attendingMost of this class consisted of Mr. Jordan turning a hollow form. He selected a beautiful piece of Sugar Maple that was a pleasure to see turn into a true work of art. He went step by step thru the entire process giving us a detailed description of the entire process. After he had completed the piece then went over several methods of texturing and carving that can be done.

Although final numbers won't be available until next month's meeting it looks like we should break even for the event. It was a excellent weekend with everyone leaving with a great amount of knowledge gained. Any one that couldn't make it truly missed out!
